Why should you Buy a magnetic car phone holder?

What is the one object that the average person handles most throughout the day? If you’re not a full-time artist or a chef then the answer is probably your mobile phone. The addiction of constantly checking our smartphones for whatsapp notifications or comments on our social media post has led us to not being able to function without our phones.

In the Car

If you frequently drive a vehicle then working out where you place your phone in the car is a real life problem considering it is now illegal to handle your phone in most parts of the sane world. In our fast paced lives, hopping in and out of the car with our hands full is a frequent sight.

Magnetic Car Phone Holders

The benefits of using a magnetic phone mount over a traditional cradle or grip holder is the speed and ease of fixing and removing your phone, you literally grab it off the holder without a second though.

There are many different types of magnetic phone holders available: ones that stick to your car’s dashboard, some can be fixed on the air vent and more funky ones which slot into the redundant CD slot of your car.

In this article we are going to discuss the pros and cons of the different magnetic phone mounts available.

How do they work?

A magnetic phone holder compromises of two parts, one is the mount which has magnets built-in and the second is a self-adhesive metal plate that is stuck behind your phone or phone case.

The metal plates come in various shapes and sizes, they identify as ferromagnetic meaning they are attracted to magnets.

If you have a large, heavy phone then it is important to stick the metal plate on the back of your phone or phone case to ensure direct contact with the magnetic mount.

With lighter phones you can simply insert the plate behind a case and the magnetic can stick work it’s magic.

Magnetic Dashboard Phone Holders

This type of magnetic mount sticks directly on your car’s dashboard or windscreen, it offers the most simple mounting solution, just peal off the film from the glue on the base of the holder any stick it wherever you wish. Stick it on the windscreen, on the dashboard in the center console, behind the steering wheel, or even on the passenger side. Do allow an hour or two for it to properly stick to the surface or it will fall off!

The problem with stick-on phone holders is that not everybody is comfortable sticking a foreign object in their car, especially if your car is on lease or finance which is understandable, also in very hot climates they might not stick properly.

Below are some magnetic phone holders that stick on the dashboard.
